   Robert C. Anderson

Attorney Robert C. Anderson, is a national expert in Elder Law. He is one of 13 Certified Elder Law Attorneys (CELA) in Michigan and one of 10 in Wisconsin. He is the only Upper Peninsula of Michigan attorney to ever be elected to the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) Board of Directors and is a member of NAELA's Council of Advanced Practitioners (CAP). Bob is also Chair of NAELA's Tax Section, a member of NAELA's Ethics Committee, a member of the NAELA News Editorial Board, a member of the Elder Law Sections of the State Bars of Michigan and Wisconsin and Vice-President of the Marquette County Michigan Bar Association. His law degree is from Michigan State University and his Masters degree in Taxation is from Georgetown University. For over 28 years, Bob has served senior citizens in the U.P. and Northern Wisconsin. Bob has served on the Marquette County Commission on Aging and the Board of Citizens for Better Care of Michigan, a statewide group advocating for nursing home residents. He has also taught as an adjunct professor of tax law at the Business School of Michigan Technological University.Bob is also an award-winning writer, having received NAELA's John J. Regan writing award in 2009 for his NAELA Journal article Estate Planning with Non-Qualified Annuities - Navigating the Labyrinth.

 
   
   Stewart R. Hakola

Attorney Stewart R. Hakola is an honors graduate of the University of Michigan and University of Michigan Law School. He served 15 years as an attorney for Michigan Protection and Advocacy Services, Inc., a non-profit organization representing persons with disabilities and their families. As a result, Stu has expertise in special education, discrimination, mental health, guardianship, government benefits, and other disability issues. He is now an Associate with The Elder law Firm of Robert C. Anderson Associates, P.C., with a special interest in assisting elders to remain in their homes and in establishing Special Needs Trusts to protect the future with persons with disabilities and their families. Stu has previously served as an adjunct instructor at NMU, teaching Business Law and Education Law. Stu has made many major presentations across Michigan and the Country on disability law issues and is the author of numerous articles in professional journals.

   Catrina Suardini
Catrina Suardini is our Paralegal and a Benefit Specialist. Catrina has been with Anderson Associates for over 7 years and is a graduate of Grand Valley State University. She also has a bachelor's degree, in Accounting, through University of Phoenix. Catrina is very knowledgeable and her years of experience at the firm along with her excellent administrative skills are a valuable asset to the firm. She is a native of Gwinn, Michigan and shares a home with her dog, Scooby.
